نوش کن جامِ شرابِ یک منیتا بِدان بیخِ غم از دل برکَنی
دل، گشاده دار چون جامِ شرابسر گرفته چند چون خُمّ دَنی
چون ز جام بی‌خودی رطلی کشیکم زنی از خویشتن لافِ منی
سنگسان شو، در قدم نی همچو آبجمله رنگ‌آمیزی و تَردامنی
دل به مِی دربند تا مردانه‌وارگردن سالوس و تقوا بشکنی
خیز و جهدی کن چو حافظ تا مگرخویشتن در پای معشوق افکنی
Interpretation
Pull the root of sorrow out of your heart. Keep your heart open like a cup and don’t keep your head sealed like a jar. Stop being self-absorbed. Be steadfast on the path and don’t run off in every direction like water. Put hypocrisy aside. Strive earnestly to lay yourself at your beloved’s feet; this effort will succeed.
