2011 Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow
Naval Air Station Pensacola
Pensacola, Florida
Saturday November 12, 2011

The Blue Angels take to the skies to fly their LAST performance of the 2011 airshow season. First, Fat Albert takes to the skies for his performance, followed by the six Hornets in a FANTASTIC high show performance. I was able to get their ground show and you’ll want to stick around to watch the entire video, as we have a bit of fun with some of the departing officers from the 2011 team.

I apologize for the black or white blips in the video, as I still have yet to figure out what causes it.

If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate “version” of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation – including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve’s Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

The F/A-18F Super Hornet you see here is flown in the first of two demonstrations on Friday at NAS Pensacola and is put through its paces in a great demonstration. Flying the Super Hornet in this demonstration are LT Peter “Tool” Stavrides and LT Wrenn “Kooter” Landers.

Following its tacdemo, the Super Hornet joins up with this F4U Corsair and the SB2C Helldiver for a one-of-a-kind Legacy Flight over NAS Pensacola. The dissimilar formation looked great and they even TRIED to make it a four-ship with the Curtis Pusher! It didn’t quite work out well… the timing was slightly off… but it was a great idea.
