Libatkan Musisi Wanita, Konser Dibatalkan di Iran

Konser musik oleh Orkestra Simfoni Teheran dibatalkan hanya 15 menit sebelum dimulai karena menampilkan sejumlah musisi perempuan.

Klaim tersebut disampaikan oleh Ali Rahbari, konduktor salah satu orkestra paling tua di Iran pada Minggu (29/11/2015).

Sedianya orkestra akan tampil di acara pembukaan Kejuaraan Tinju Antarklub di ibu kota Iran.

Menolak Jilbab, Pecatur Perempuan Boikot Kejuaraan Catur Dunia di Iran

Nazi-Paikidze-Barnes, seorang pecatur dunia yang berusia 22 tahun, memboikot kompetisi Kejuaraan Catur Dunia di Iran yang akan digelar tahun 2017.

“Saya pikir Iran tidak layak menjadi tuan rumah kejuaraan dunia catur perempuan, karena di negara itu perempuan tidak memiliki hak-hak dasar dan mereka diperlakukan sebagai warga kelas dua,” katanya.

Di Iran, perempuan secara hukum diharuskan mengenakan hijab atau jilbab.

Iranians Pay Last Respects to Former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani

Tens of thousands of mourners gathered in Tehran to pay their last respects to the former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani on Tuesday.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, incumbent President Hassan Rouhani and other senior officials were among the funeral prayers at the Tehran University campus.

Rafsanjani’s casket was buried at the shrine of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, to whom the former president was a close adviser and confidant.

Rafsanjani, 82, died of heart disease on Sunday.

Born in August 1934 in Iran’s Bahreman, Rafsanjani was an influential politician and religious scholar.
